editInverse writer Jen Glennon considered him one of the greatest villains in role-playing video games, discussing how contemptible he is for his actions, while noting how shocking a twist it was that he joined the party later down the line. She felt it was a comparatively unprecedented twist, and one that outdoes all other twists in Chrono Trigger.[1]
