Gulus G. Turkmen (born july 24, 1974) is a Turkish author and thinker specialized in parental relationships and intercultural communications.
She is most known for her "Sustainable Good Parenting" theory, a modern philophical approach to parenting discussed in proeminent universities in Turkey and praised by many local experts[1]. She has also designed a self-assessment method entitled “Map of Motherhood[2]” that aims to generate awareness in mothers about the qualities of their approaches. Her third book with the same title (Map of Motherhood) has been translated to English (June 2018).
Turkmen's research reference book “Anneligin Otesinde” (Beyond Motherhood, 2012) is about ongoing motherhood movements and their attributes through a comparative perspective by focusing on cultural distinctions from around the globe. The book has been critically acclaimed[3] and gave way to numerous conference and panel invitations from foremost universities in Turkey[4] along with reviews and discussions in national TV and radio programmes.
Currently Turkmen is giving workshops and lectures in Turkey as well as in Europe, mostly about intercultural communications and communications with children.
