youbeQ is a multiplayer driving and flight simulator as well as a communication platform that runs inside a Web browser. It runs on a variety of systems, including Linux, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows.
This simulator uses the WebGL library and the Cesiumjs virtual globe,[1] and has been developed since 2011.[2] The flight simulation component may be viewed as a more casual alternative to software such as Microsoft Flight Simulator.
It is available for installation in Google's Chrome Webstore.[3] One of its key features is its realism, since users can choose any location on the Earth to explore. The name was inspired by the word ubiquity which means the state or ability of being everywhere, at the same time.[4] This aspect represents what youbeQ is all about and distinguishes it from all other communication platform.
youbeQ is a project born inside iNovmapping LDA, and now is property of Maps With Life, S.A. a iNovmapping LDA spin-off. Currently are incubated in the Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) – Association for Innovation and Development in Science and Technology at the University of Coimbra, voted the best technology-based incubator of the world in 2010.[5]
