Steven Heap (Born 4 March 1976) is an English author and multi-award winning chef and Indian food enthusiast most known for his YouTube channel that features over 1000 video recipes as well as travel blogs and food and restaurant reviews. Link: www.youtube.com/stevenheaprecipes

Biography

Heap was born in Truro, Cornwall and grew up in Wales before attending The University of Hertfordshire in 2001 where he graduated with a BA in Media Production. He moved to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2009 and returned to the UK in 2015. He got a job as a tour chef for the rapper Wiz Khalifa soon after, as well as stints working in various restaurants since a teenager.

As an avid traveler Heap has visited over 60 countries in search of food inspiration and has lived in Spain, China and Malaysia.

Heap is also a cookery teacher and also teaches at the Harborne Food School in Birmingham, UK. He is also a strong advocate for Taste of India Spices which is a UK based company that he claims offers some of the most authentic and flavorsome spices available on the market. He formerly broadcasted a live stream every Saturday night at 8pm (UK time) on his YouTube channel demonstrating a wide range of Indian dishes.

To date Heap has written 3 books about Indian food and states that the inspiration for them started when he got a part time job at an Indian restaurant in the UK at age 14 and also his extensive travels in India.
