Chinaman's Lagoon is a lagoon located near Miles, in Queensland. The lagoon was originally named after Sam Ah Sun, otherwise Sam Ah Lee, a Chinese market gardener. Sam originally came to Australia to try his luck at the Palmer Goldfields in 1876. Not finding the goldfields to his liking, he and many others set out to find jobs, arriving in Miles in 1880. Today, the lagoon is home to rare pink water lilies that are a tourist attraction when in bloom.
