The University formally announced in April, it would be dropping Glyndwr and undergoing a rebrand. It's website, Wrexham.ac.uk is now for the new name, previously being glyndwr.ac.uk. News sources, such as the recent controversy on a visiting professor, fully independent on the topic of the name change, are using the new name. These include, BBC News, Nation.Cymru[31], Daily Post, The Leader, WalesOnline. Other sources on other topics also use the new name, such as Business News Wales, and the local council.
