Born 1st April 1980, Danny Fudge was born in Oldham England. Starting amateur rugby in 1987 at the age of 7years at Saddlworth Rangers ARLFC and then moving on to Waterhead ARFLC From 1989 to 1993, Danny then moved on to serve short short spells at St Anne's of oldham and Higginshaw ARFLC before returning to Waterhead ARLFC where he progressed to the under 16s team. In 1996 Danny was selected for Oldham Town Team and following his successful season was also selected for trials at Barla Lancacashire Team in which he represented Barla Lanacashire against Yorkshire earning MOM performances. Following the 1996 season Danny was also recognised and invited to trial for the Great Britain Barla Team. But unfortunately missed out. Danny went on to play for Waterhead ARFLC, while having trial seasons at Oldham Roughyheads, Salford Reds, Bradford Bulls and Hull. In 1999 at 19 years old while playing with Oldham ARFLC, Danny decided to retire from Rugby League following a cruciate ligament injury and pursue other opportunities outside of rugby league.
