Susana Perez Lopez have been one of the great actresses of Cuba in the last 50 years. She has brilliantly ventured into theater, radio, television and cinema; also she has been an announcer, host and director. She was the most popular Cuban dramatic actress in the 1980s, due to unforgettable romantic heroines of classic Cuban and universal soap operas.

Susana Perez Lopez is the daughter of Mariano Pérez Sierra and Gardencia López Molleda, she was born in Marianao, Havana, on May 25, 1952. She has two children: Vanessa Domínguez (July 24, 1970) and Roberto Álvarez (April 26, 1976); the latter has appeared since the 1990s as a television presenter and actor, as well as in theater and cinema. Since February 2008 she decided to settle in the city of Miami, to work and live there with her daughter and her first granddaughter. In this city in the state of Florida, Susana has also made memorable performances in the acting media.

Becoming an actress

She began his artistic studies at the School of Training of Actors of the Cuban Institute of Broadcasting in 1971. She debuted as a booth announcer and then as a substitute actress on Cuban Television during 1972. Since that date she has been the first figure in more than 30 soap operas, serials and TV series, in which she has distinguished herself by her magnificent performances and the beauty of her face.

Other works

In theater she has worked under the direction of some of the most important theater players, such as Carlos Díaz and José Antonio Rodríguez and on stages in Venezuela, Colombia, Spain and Bolivia.

She has taught acting classes at the Higher Institute of Art of Cuba, the International School of Film and Television of San Antonio de los Baños and at the University of Santo Tomás, in La Paz, Bolivia. She has also developed her talent as a radio, television and show host, director of teleplays, stories, teletheaters, one-persons and video clips.
