Pilatia is a genus of fungi within the Hyaloscyphaceae family.[1] The genus contains 4 species.[2]
The genus name of Pilatia is in honour of Albert Pilát (1903–1974), who was a Czech botanist and mycologist. He studied at the Faculty of Science at Charles University, under the guidance of Professor Josef Velenovský.[3]
The genus was circumscribed by Josef Velenovský in Monogr. Discom. Bohem. vol.35 on page 289 in 1934.
