Phan Huynh Trung , a graphic designer and animator, is the only locally born Vietnamese contestant on the Asian Reality TV Show, "HP Space" whose eight episodes aired on Star World and Channel V from November - December, 2009. "HP Space" pitted teams of Asian artists, from video directors to graphic designers, in a series of challenges in which one team was eliminated every episode. Challenges included "The Anime Challenge", "The Fashion Challenge" and "The Music Video Challenge." Trung appeared in Episodes 1, 2, 7 and 8.
Initially, Trung made a promotional entry video which was judged to be one of the Top-65 out of over 2000 entries. Then after a series of non-televised, creative challenges in Singapore, China and India, Trung was chosen to be on the show and ultimately placed eighth of sixteen contestants from Australia, Singapore, India, Malaysia, The Philippines, China, Taiwan, South Korea and Vietnam.
Born in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in 1985, Trung also represented his home country in the Initiatives Of Change (IofC) World Youth Forum (Melbourne, Australia)in 2006. After creating many iconic animations for YanTV (Vietnam's first music television channel), Trung is now a Founding Director of "D-Spot", a film, animation and graphic design company based in Ho Chi Minh City.
