Michel Michelis is a French-born recording artist and comedian based in California. He performed one of the leading roles in the animated Disney film Cars 2.
Musical Career
editMichelis uses the name Michel Saga in his musical career, having released several albums both as a solo performer and as lead singer of various blues bands he has formed. One CD, entitled "Le monde est têtu," included the song "Petite Fee Clochette," which received widespread radio play across America in 2008. His current band, Rue Manouche, performs throughout Northern California.
Voice-over Work
editIn 2010 Michelis, who is also a voice-over artist, was recruited to appear in Cars 2 as the voice of Tomber, a French three-wheeled vehicle patterned on a Reliant Regal. Michelis is a frequent performer in festival venues throughout the Sonoma region of California, where the film's director, John Lasseter, owns a vineyard. Appearing as Michel Saga, Michelis sings traditional French cabaret songs on a 19th-century replica barrel organ.
