The King’s Speech (cocktail)

The King’s Speech cocktail was discovered in 2018 by Swedish podcast radio channel Cocktailpodden. The recipe calls for equal parts Dry Gin, Green Chartreuse, Maraschino Liquour and lime juice to be shaken with ice, strained into a coupe and topped with Champagne.

Adding Champagne to a cocktail is sometimes referred to as making it a ”Royal” (see Kir Royal). This being a Last Word cocktail topped with Champagne gives the drink it’s name: A royal last word.
