Nach dem Entwurf der HPP Architekten aus Düsseldorf wird die Fußballarena ein Stadion mit umlaufenden Ober- und Unterrang, wobei die Heimtribüne hinter dem Tor auf der Südseite aus einem durchgehenden Rang besteht. Der Entwurf sieht eine Kapazität von 34.700 Plätzen vor, von denen ein hoher Anteil von 36 Prozent (ca. 12.400 Plätze) als Stehplätze ausgewiesen sind. Der Bau ist 25 Meter hoch und weist eine rechteckige Form auf. Neben der Geschäftsstelle werden auch die Funktionsräume der Profimannschaft und der U23 in dem Stadion integriert.
Das bisherige Stadion des SC Freiburg, das 1954 eröffnete Dreisamstadion, entspricht nicht mehr den Anforderungen an eine moderne Spielstätte und darf wegen eines zu kleinen Spielfeldes (100,5 m × 68 m), das vom Tor im Süden zum Tor im Norden Richtung Dreisam zudem ein Gefälle von 98 cm aufweist, nur aufgrund einer Sondererlaubnis der DFL weiter genutzt werden.Es wurde seit einiger Zeit über einen Umbau des Stadions oder einen Neubau diskutiert. Um die Wirtschaftlichkeit einer Umbau-Lösung zu prüfen, gab der SC eine Studie beim Unternehmen Freyler in Auftrag, nach der ein Umbau elf Jahre dauern und nur unwesentlich weniger als ein Neubau kosten würde. |
The SC-Stadion is an under-construction football stadium in Freiburg, Germany. It will primarily serve as the new home stadium of SC Freiburg, replacing the club's former home, the Schwarzwald-Stadion. It is located in a part of the city called Brühl, near the airport.
According to the buidling plans made by Düsselforf-based architect group, 'HPP Architekten', the stadium will have continuous upper and lower tiers, with the home stand behind the goal on the south side. The plans say it will have a capacity of 34,700 seats, 36% (around 12,400) of them being standing-only. The stadium is 25 metres high and is rectangular. In addition to the offices, function rooms for the first team and the U23s will be integrated.
The stadium used by SC Freiburg up till now, the Dreisamstadion, opened in 1954, no longer meets the requirements of a modern stadium due to a pitch that is too small (100.5 m × 68 m), and also a gradient of 98 cm from the goal in the south to the goal in the north towards Dreisam. It is only allowed to be continuously used because of a special permit issued by the DFL (the "Deutsche Fußball Liga", "German Football League"). For some time now, there have been discussions about a rebuilding of the stadium or a new construction. In order to examine the economic viability of converting the Dreisamstadion, the club commissioned a study from Freyler, according to which a conversion would take eleven years and cost only slightly less than a new building. |
