edit

Hewett Hall is a student residence hall at Illinois State University. It is located in Normal, Illinois on the corner of N. Fell Ave. and W. College Ave and the residence hall was completed in 1966.[1]Hewett hall is connected to Manchester hall and there is a lobby in the middle called the Vrooman center which is the university center for learning assistance and minority student academic center. [2] Hewett hall was named after Edwin Hewett, who was the president of the university from 1876-1890.[3]

Room Layouts

edit

The 18 story building can house over 800 students and has different room layouts for every floor.[4]Floors 2-6 are traditional "corridor-style" floors with double rooms; they do not have suites or apartments.[5]Floors 7, 9, 11 and 12 have one apartment on each floor that students can sign up for at the suite room rate and floors 13-17 have 2 suites on each floor.[6] Each suite has a living room, two bedrooms, and its own semi-private bath.[7] The 18th floor has two lounges. [8]
