Wright hall is a student residence hall at Illinois State University. It is located at Normal, Illinois by Adelaide Street, and Delaine Drive. The 12 story dormitory houses around four hundred students. Wright hall is also interconnected with the Linkins Dining Center which also connects to two other residences halls, Wilkins, and Haynie Hall; all three of the residence halls are commonly known as “Tri-towers” and is located on the university’s west campus.

History

It is name after Simeon Wright, a teacher who lobbied for the creation of ISNU in 1857, and was president of the Illinois Education Association when Illinois State University was founded in 1857.[1]

Construction and renovations

Its construction was started sometime in the 1960's, and was completed and open in 1964.[2] [3]Renovations started around 2003 and was finished sometime in 2007 and reopened in August 15, 2007.[4]

Rooms

Room sizes vary, singles measure 8'5"x 21'6" while the doubles measure 14'8" x 11'2".[5]

Other

In the basement, there is a laundry room with 10 washing machine and 12 dryers for students to use.[6] Students also have an area where they can study in peace, theses rooms are located at Linkins 102, 103A, 103B.[7] Also student have access to a small gym, a pool table and a small viewing are to watch movies, this also located at the lower level of Linkins.
