This language has been contested by numerous users, as evidenced by discussions on the Zionism talk page.

I think User:האופה has a point that the term "colonial project" may be inflammatory and therefore constitute POV editing in today's political environment. With luck, we might find a way to include that term as a direct quote from some Zionist from late 19th century Europe in a way that User:האופה and others will find acceptable.

Per Wikipedia's own entry, colonization is "a process of establishing control over foreign territories or peoples for the purpose of exploitation."

The Jewish diaspora is a recognized event in which Jews or Israelites were forced out of their ancestral homeland of Israel and spread through the world. The epicenter of this diaspora is therefore the very land in question.

Therefore at the very least, the use of the term "colonization" without caveat is inflammatory at best, and malicious at worst.
