Dj Smooth Paradox is a Nigerian born Dj who is primarily located in the UK and travels extensively throughout Europe and America. He is known to be the head of Smooth Spine Entertainment. He started his Dj career as a young boy in the 1990s in a town called Iwaya in Lagos state of Nigeria when his love for music and dancing became obvious. He had in the late 80s become a break dancer and was used to street dancing and getting involved in local street and party dance competitions. He however decided to focus on the Dj part of the hustle and hooked up with his childhood friend Dj Austin Galaxy who at the time was well known for his break dancing skills also but had moved into the DJ business. Dj Austin Galaxy taught Smooth Paradox the rudiments of the trade, how to mix and handle the equipment and Smooth will be at his studio endlessly after school practising and just listening to music. During one of the practise sessions DJ Smooth Paradox met another well known and extremely knowledgeable and award winning DJ called DJ Funky Jay. He was a master of the art. Funky Jay used to work at Plateaus Records in Lagos and Smooth started visiting him at his studio and just watching him mix and do all sorts with his hands on the deck. Dj Smooth Paradox under Funky Jay learnt how to blend songs, how to listen to tempo, count beats and timing, his name "Smooth" actually came from the fact that he became very smooth in the skill of mixing. He hung out and partied with a lot of other Djs at that time including DJ Humility, Dj Jimmy Jatt and many others who were making waves all around Ebute Metta, Yaba and Lagos Island. Dj Smooth Paradox then moved on to other things but came back to his first love, that is, Djing. At this point he had relocated to the UK and started a mobile Dj business, playing at private and public parties and various functions including clubs and lounges in London and all over the UK and Europe. He is very well vast in his knowledge of music which includes 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s, catering for different clientele. He plays Afro beatz, Hip hop, R and B, Dance hall, Jazz, Country and traditional African music. He will keep you dancing all night long
