Valentin Parnakh: Not Here and Not Now ([Валентин Парнах: не здесь и не теперь] Error: {{Langx}}: text has italic markup (help), [Valentin Parnakh: ne zdes' i ne teper] Error: {{Lang}}: text has italic markup (help)) is a Russian film essay by Mikhail Basov about the musician, poet, translator, dancer and choreographer Valentin Parnakh, who is most remembered as the founder of the first Russian jazz band.

The documentary is features various sources, from Parnakh’s autobiographical novel “Paris dans la Pension Maubert” to the documents from the family archives provided by his son Alexander Parnakh. Sequences with the views of V. Parnakh’s native city Taganrog are combined with the contemporary documentary reels, excerpts from films by Fernand Legér, Man Ray, René Clair, Dziga Vertov, Jean Vigo, Eugene Deslaw, Evgeniy Slavinsky, Paul Leni, photographs and drawings. The film also uses animation and elements of video art.

The premier in Russia was held on 27 July 2011, on the 120th anniversary of Parnakh’s birth in the Taganrog Youth Centre

The film was also screened on 6th October 2012 as part of the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the Russian Jazz
