Biography
editKevin Karpiak is Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Criminology at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan[1]. His ethnographic work explores the practical nature of ethics in French police administration from an anthropological perspective, a topic on which he has published widely[2]. He has also served as Editor for several projects, including the group academic blog Anthropoliteia.net[3] and, most recently, as co-editor of the series Police/Worlds: Studies in security, crime and governance for Cornell University Press[4].

edit- On Sunday, October 5, 2014 his chapter "Adjusting La Police[5]" was used as a foundational citation for the Dictionary.com Word of the Day, which was "tutoyer"[6].
