Doctor Free is the Wikipedia user name of Dr. Ronald Joe Record.
Dr. Record obtained a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of California at Santa Cruz in 1994. He is currently principle software architect for The Hornblower Group. Formerly he served as Chief Technology Officer of the cryptocurrency research facility at Moonlight Labs and Principle Engineer at Eloquent Cloud. Record was previously employed by VMware as a Staff Engineer in the Engineering Services group from 2012 until 2017 and prior to that as the chief open source software architect at The Santa Cruz Operation (SCO) from 1983 until 2009. Prior to that, he served as a teaching assistant at UCSC and worked at NASA Ames Research Center in the automated guidance and navigation laboratory.
