Joining Wikipedia

Joining Wikipedia in March 2008, I originally created an account to edit I site local to me at the time; the Icknield Way. As this was a site constructed about a subject concerning which I know a reasonable amount, I felt, I was best placed to edit and contributed to it. Therefore, by creating an account I felt this allowed me to access the benefits of the Wikipedia community as well as edit and add my own knowledge to the website.

Firstly, just contributing to local sites to me, I soon broadened the horizons of knowledge and hence my contribution to almost anything I have come across that I believe could be bettered by my additions.

Moving forward and further contributions

My future plans are to further broaden the spectrum of my knowledge with the help of Wikipedia in order to improve efficiency, accuracy and reliability. I set out to create a structure consisting of personal guidelines in order to achieve this. By using my own guidelines and those set out by the Wiki community and Wikipedia as a whole, I believe I will be able to validate all elements of my existence within the site.

Personal guidelines

1. Validation of contributions; validation of any contributions made within any publicly accessible work can only truly be achieved by the use of reliable referencing. Referencing must me correctly applied and accurately cited. Full information of references must be added to any site in order to allow full validation by site administrators and the wider Wiki community.
2. Accurate information; correct and accurate information is one of the main keystones of a fully functioning encyclopaedia, whether that be in paper form or on the internet.

There is a very eclectic mix of Wikipedia sites that I visit and use. When it comes to editing there is also a vast pool of knowledge to pull from. This has lead, therefore, to a bizarre mix of contributions. Those to which I have contributed the most are listed below.
