Biography
editBurch began his hobby in 1979 when be began racing in an indoor track designed for electric racing in Euless, Texas where he quickly established himself as a strong competitor in the Southwest, landing himself with a sponsorship deal with Jomac
By 1982, Burch three ROAR Nationals titles. In 1981, Burch began racing in 1:8 nitro. In the 1981 IFMAR Worlds, he qualified second in his fifth nitro race[1] at the age of 13[2]
After 29 years of trying, Burch finally won his first IFMAR Worlds at the age of 43, making him the oldest driver to win.
In 2001, a poll conducted by the Radio Controlled Car Action voted Burch as the "Greatest RC driver of all time", 8% ahead of Masami Hirosaka[3], who is widely regarded as the greatest of all time.
