Taoyuan coach fire was a fire and accident that occurred in Taoyuan City, Taiwan on 19 July 2016 when a chartered coach carrying Taiwanese driver and tour guide and 24 tourists including 3 children from Liaoning, China, making their way home via Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, caught fire and crashed into a barrier; killing the entire occupants on board, making it the deadliest incident involving Chinese tourists since the government passed a legislation allowing them to enter the country in 2008.
Following the 2008 election in which Ma Ying-jeou became of president, he enabled Mainlanders the right to visit Taiwan as tourists[1]
