User:Doug/sandbox User:Doug/Sandbox User:Doug/Sandbox 2 Discussion of inactive projects -thoughts:
- So I would tentatively organize the inactive projects more like this:
- 1. Delete - Spurious projects we wouldn't consider beneficial no matter how many members they had and projects that have never done more than create a Project page with no activity for several months.
- 2. Userfy and refer editor to WP:COUNCIL/P (but remembering that neither the Guide nor Proposals are policy)- One member projects where the member is actively editing in the topic covered by the project
- 3. Rename as a task force - Projects with Very few members and a small scope (some very large scope projects have very few members)
- 4. Mark Historical and either rename as a task force or otherwise suggest where to comment - projects with little activity over an extended period of time that don't fall into any of the above - including most inactive maintenance projects.
- 5. Mark Inactive - projects of any size with little activity for several months as a sort of yellow light to everyone concerned and to help us track when someone needs to suggest actions 1 though 4.
A template for law? Not really that great, there's better stuff down below.

According to the article the United States is eligible as "a group of British Colonies until 1783". Is there a reliable third party source that says that the United States, a federal republic only 13 of the states of which were ever British Colonies (though many other parts were British territory at times) and which also includes French, Spanish, and Russian colonies or territories and one previously autonomous kingdom, that repudiated the Crown and made war against it, is eligible for membership.
Also, as an American, I consider the idea that we were colonies until 1783 POV. During the Revolution the American's carried arms openly, organized a standing army which moved about at will, and operated virtually all of the functions of civil government.

Looking for something good/better for WPs I'm involved with - these are just models, I am not necessarily associated with any of them:
- thorough and looks nice, but VERY busy

- another nicely laid out template
A list of articles needing cleanup associated with this project is available. See also the tool's wiki page and the index of WikiProjects.
- Optimism should have a separate page that focuses on the philosophical idea of optimism and distinguishes the philosophical view from "positive thinking" and other everyday uses of the word.
- Philosophy of social science, has some okay points but requires elaboration on Wittgenstein and Winch, perhaps other linguistic critiques, whether logical positivist or postmodernist.
- Exchange value needs to be redone, it shouldn't be under 'Marxist theory'- although it's an important component of Marxist theory it's also vital for all economics. That said the article's weight on Marx is also absurd.
- German Idealism and the articles related to it may need to be rewritten or expanded to avoid undue weight on Arthur Schopenhauer.
- Protected values first section confuses right action and values and needs a copy edit, moving and wikifying
- Quality (philosophy) needs a more clear explanation.
- Socratic dialogues could do with some tidying and clarification. See the talk page for one suggested change.
- Problem of universals: The introductory definition is (perhaps) fixed. But, the article is poor. Check out the German version.
- Teleology: the article is shallow and inconsistent.
- Existentialism: the quality of this article varies wildly and is in desperate need of expert attention.
- Analytic philosophy This is a very major topic, but still has several sections which are stubs, and several topics which are not covered.
- Lifeworld A philosophical concept that seems to have fallen exclusively into the hands of the sociologists. Could use some attention; it's a major and complex issue in phenomenology.
- Perception Needs the attention of philosophically minded Wikipedians. This is only the start of an overhaul of perception and related articles.
- a more descriptive way to handle it
Here are some open WikiProject Reenactment tasks:
- Project-level:
- Locate pages that need attention, then add them to this tasks list.
- Add Template:WikiProject Reenactment to the talk pages of related articles, by placing {{WikiProjectReenactment}} at the top of the talk page.
- Help assess articles for quality and importance within this project.
- Goals and scope need to be defined
- Major work needed:
- List of historical reenactment groups needs work
- Historical reenactment needs to be abstracted (currently focuses on American Civil War)
- Authenticity (reenactment) needs to be expanded (currently focuses on less-authentic medieval reenactment)
- Codex Belli needs an English summary of the basic ruleset
- Living history needs to be expanded
- Articles to write:
- Stone Age reenactment (might be just experimental archaeology)
- Classical reenactment for Roman Empire, Ancient Greece
- Dark Age reenactment (redirect to Medieval reenactment?)
- Modern reenactment for 18th-20th century reenactment (American Civil War, Napoleonic Wars, World War II)
- Articles for major reenactment groups? (What defines a "major" reenactment group anyway?)
- Article about gunnery displays? Might be crossreferenced for details on black powder focused reenactment groups
- Boer War reenacting is a new (and experimental) trend, primarily with mostly modern reenactors.
- Categories:
- Category:American Civil War firearms is not generalized; there is only a Category:American Civil War rifles.
- Need a category (and probably sub-categories) for manufacturers of reproduction weapons, such as U.S. Fire Arms Manufacturing Company.
Feel free to edit this list or discuss these tasks.
- even more so
