I am Jonathan R. Mack, Ph.D. I've written numerous essays that appear on my website: www.ReflectionsInACrackedGlass.com.
I currently am a Selectman in the town of Newfane, VT, play the saxophone and flute in the Buzzards Brass Band and jazz ensembles, and act in performances of the Actors' Theatre Playhouse in Chesterfield, NH, and the Vermont Theatre Company in Brattleboro, VT. I've spent a lot of time in South America, primarily Chile and Ecuador and a bit in Peru and Bolivia. I am the current President of the board on the In-Sight Photography Project, a non-profit organization providing photography education to youth regardless of ability to pay in Brattleboro, VT, the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, the Navaho Nation in Arizona, as well as Chicago, IL. In-Sight celebrates its 20th Anniversary this year (2012).
For twenty-five years, I was a psychology professor at the State University of New York at Old Westbury (tenured). At the same time I did computer consulting work for major corporations and was eventually became chief software architect for 1800flowers.com. In 2008 I moved to Vermont, where I served for two years (2009 to 2011) as Visiting Professor of Psychology and Education at Marlboro College.
Note: I have no relationship to the Jonathan Mack who has a website by that url (www.jonathanmack.com) nor to the famous tenor whose name comes up most in Google searches. I also am not Dr. John E. Mack whose Wikipedia who was a Pulitzer Prize winning psychiatrist before he came to believe that people who believed they'd been abducted by aliens really had been abducted by aliens. To the best of my knowledge, I have never been abducted by aliens myself, though, given the state of the world, sometimes I wish I had!
