Civil Simian are a Northern Irish rock band from Belfast, County Down. The band consists of Ruari McCloskey (lead vocals, acoustic guitar), Martin Price (lead guitar), Ben Fleming (synths, flute), Sean McCann (bass, backing vocals, percussion), and Colm O'Flynn (drums, percussion). Their debut EP Fables was released in 2014,^[1] followed in 2015 and 2016 by three precursor singles to their debut LP Ouroboric

History

2008-2014: Formation, Wave Speech and Urban Scarecrow

Ruari McCloskey and Martin Price met at Belfast bar Katy Daly's after having spoken on Northern Irish music forum Fastfude.^[2] They quickly rebranded Price's former musical enterprise Wave SpeechCite error: A <ref> tag is missing the closing </ref> (see the help page).
