Examine Wikipedia articles that are directly related to your Research Topic and select a substantive article to evaluate. No, there is no warning banner at the top of the article.

Write an brief explanation of the reason the issues mentioned in the warning banner are important. For example, if the issue is “needs additional citations for verification,” why does that matter?

The warning banner helps us, the readers, understand that in the specific article there may be deficiencies that can affect our research. if the citation isn't placed properly or the heading of the article is incorrect it can affect our research as well as research for others making it an unreliable source/article.

3.8 2. Is the lead section of the article easy to understand? Does it summarize the key points of the article?

The leading section of the article is very easy to understand because it gives me the overall general description of what the holiday known as Holi really is. It gives a brief summary and light insight of the History and then as we approach the contents table its extremely clear which helps when researching.

3.8 3. Is the structure of the article clear? “Are there several headings and subheadings, images and diagrams at appropriate places, and appendices and footnotes at the end?”

The structure of the article is clear because it is chronologically ordered and well formatted. The subheading are precise and relate to what that part of the article is referencing to. Appropriate amount of images that not only catch the readers eye but give a visual representation to those who are visual learners.

3.8 4. Are “the various aspects of the topic balanced well”? That is does it seem to provide a comprehensive overview of the topic?

The various aspects of the topic are balanced well because of the way the author decided to format the entire article. It begins with what the holiday is and then moves into different origins and how its effected their culture. Overall In my opinion it is completely comprehensive and able for most readers to understand what the author is informing the audience with.

3.8 5. Does the article provide a “neutral point of view”? Does it read like an encyclopedia article instead of a persuasive essay?

The article does provide a neutral point in because its more of an informative article. Its based on the true facts and statistics that are able to be backed up with evidence. It wouldn't be considered a persuasive essay mostly because there isn't really any persuading going on besides the fact that the colors and the images are eye catching towards the readers. Other than that it is completely informative.

3.8 6. Are the references and footnotes citing reliable sources? Do they point to scholarly and trustworthy information? Beware of references to blogs; look for references to books, scholarly journal articles, government sources, etc.

The references listed in the article are reliable because majority of the references are coming from dot nets and dot org. Websites weren't the only sources listed in the article because the writer also uses various videos, new articles, reviews, and books that help his statements.

7. Look for these signs of bad quality and comment on their presence or absence from the article you are evaluating:

3.8 a. Is the lead section well-written, in clear, correct English? The section is well written, clearly, and used standard and college level English.

3.8 b. are there “unsourced opinions” and/or “value statements which are not neutral”? Yes, the author/writer mentioned details about his or her experiences in the Holi Festival and gave details about the location, scenery, community, rituals, and much more. In noting this type of information it is possible that he did enjoy this festival because of the positive shown throughout the article.

3.8 c. does the article refer “to ‘some,’ ‘many,’ or other unnamed groups of people,” instead of specific organizations or authors or facts? No, the article has the evidence of actual organizations, authors, and facts because considering is it is a worldwide Holiday and has been evolving everywhere it is only right to gather the correct and relevant origin information. It would almost be offensive if the author/ writer did not properly do his or her research correctly.

3.8 d. does the article seem to omit aspects of the topic? No, the article does a great job in giving the readers the importance, significance, description, impact on society/community, involvement with different cultures and much more. It pretty much covered every aspect correctly and efficiently.

3.8 e. are some sections overly long compared to other sections of similar importance to the topic? The amount of cultures that he had listed seemed as if it were eternal because he described almost all the countries or origins and how its impacted them individually. Through rituals to how they celebrate, its all in the summaries which seemed a bit long for my liking.

3.8 f. does the article lack sufficient references or footnotes?

Not at all. This articles supplies more than enough references and plentiful amount of footnotes.

3.8 g. Look at the “View History” for the article. As you read the conversation there, do you see hostile dialogue or other evidence of lack of respectful treatment among the editors?

The editors kept a completely professional dialogue when it came to editing the piece of history and Information.
