Paulette Séguret (née Jacquier-Roux; 18 July 1918 – 20 February 1975) was a member of the French Resistance during World War II. She was the only woman to serve in the first division of the Free French Forces.
Early life
editJacquier was born in La Frette, Isère, on 18 July 1918, to Lucien Jacquier-Roux and Marie Joséphine Darlay.[1] Her father Lucien fought for France in World War I and was a member of the Resistance during World War II, where he died in service of France.
Service in World War II
editAfter Charles de Gaulle's Appeal of 18 June, Jacquier attempted to join the Resistance in London. In March 1941, she came into contact with a member of the Resistance in Grenoble and began clandestinely distributing pro-Gaulle newspapers and performing other missions for the Resistance.
