Elli's Kosher Kitchen, also abbreviated as the EKK, is an Abu Dhabi-based online food and Delivery Company for Jewish Tourists in the United Arab Emirates. It is the first such institution in the country.[1][2]
The company was founded by Elli Kriel, the wife of Jewish-Emirati businessman Ross Kriel in 2019.[1]
History
editThe company was founded in February 2019 by Elli Kriel, who had moved with her husband Ross to Abu Dhabi 6 years before. That November, the EKK attended Kosherfest, a trade fair for Kosher food.[1]
Abraham Accords
editDuring the Abraham Accords, the Emirati Government requested for the EKK to prepare food for the upcoming Israeli Delegation (which included Yair Lapid). The company reiceved assistance from the Emirati Rabbi, Levi Duchman and his American counterpart, Yissachar Krakowski.[2][3]
In 2020, the EKK received an official Hechsher from the Orthodox Union.
