I've been a full time software engineer for nearly 20 years. My undergrads are in math and computer science, plus I have an AA and an AS, both from a local community college. Most of my work experience is in business software, but I also worked at a company writing scientific software (HPLC modeling) for four years. My main hobbies are martial arts, yoga, bicycling, and weightlifting.
I'm currently a graduate student at Johns Hopkins University. Most recently (ending in late 2008) I spent two years earning the prerequisites for my JHU program -- mostly biology, ochem, biochem, some engineering, and some independent research.
I currently work for a small software company here in Seattle that caters to the food and beverage industry. We sell QA and warehouse management software.
My main long term goal is to do real HIV research one day.
