Kana (香奈 born 26 January 1982 in Hokkaido, Japan) also known as Moon Kana (MOON 香奈) is a Japanese J-Rock or JPop singer.[1] Kana describes herself as a singer, a toy designer, a clothing designer, an illustrator and a model.
Career
editKana's singing style is unusual - sometimes screaming, shrieking, sometimes breathtaking and sometimes squeaky. The German magazine Daisuki, which is known to Anime and Manga fans, quoted: "Because she can look so terribly cute, you do not take it so badly that her music sometimes a little Sounds like the Sex Pistols on helium."
In addition to singing, Kana owes her popularity to her Gothic-Lolita-like dress style. She often stood for the magazine Gothic & Lolita Bible as a model before the camera and presented her own designed and tailored clothes. For each new single, she wears a different style of clothing, with the colors of the dress and the hair being coordinated with each other.
Another trademark of Kanas was her stuff-Panda Toraboruta (Travolta), to which she also dedicated the song of the same name. This fabric panda was to be seen in each of her old music videos and she wears clothes that were adapted to her clothes in style and color. For some time, he does not show up anymore, instead she presents her stuff bubbles since the album Tsuki no usagi (moon bunny). Other songs she has dedicated to the album MOON Dragon of her house cat Dragon .
In 2007, her first European tour Bunny took place. On March 3, she gave her first concert in Munich, further concerts took place in Paris, Stockholm and Helsinki. In 2010, she gave her first concert in the USA and further concerts at the Japan Expo in Paris[2] and at the Animagic in Bonn.
Kana owns her own label MoonKing 香奈苺舎 kanaichigo-SHA under which she markets her CDs, handmade fabric bunnies, sewn cat ears, Buttons and mobile phone covers.
