Isabel Helen Hardwich

editHardwich was educated at Furzedown Primary School and then attended Streatham Secondary School. Hardwich read for the Natural Sciences Tripos, at Newnham college, Cambridge. She specialised in Physics Part II. She then trained as an engineer at Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Co. in Manchester, through their two-year college apprenticeship.

editIsabel Hardwich Medal
editThe Isabel Hardwich Medal is awarded by the Women's Engineering Society (WES) to a WES member who has made a sustained and outstanding contribution to the society over a period of several years. The medal has been awarded once every year to a member(s) from 1987 to the present.[1]
