Suzanne Scanlon is an American author of fiction and non-fiction. She published Committed: on Meaning and Madwomen, a memoir about long term hospitalization in an asylum in the 1990s, in 2024.^[1]^[2]^[3]^[4]

Early life and education

Scanlon grew up with three siblings. Her mother died of cancer when she was a child. She moved to New York for her undergraduate degree, and obtained a BA in literature (english?) in 1996 from Barnard College. MA, 2003, English Studies, Illinois State University, Normal, IL.
