It does include the history but the includes the technical aspects of brass quintets. It also covers coaching and rehearsal strategies and provides examples of coaching by showing actual passages of music and discussing how to rehearse/teach. It dives into the details as it discusses articulation matching and phrase matching as well as playing in different styles together as a group.
