Reuben Pizza is based on the popular Reuben style sandwich, and uses similar ingredients. To make a Reuben Pizza, a pizza crust is lightly coated with drawn or softened butter or margarine, then sauced with Thousand Island dressing, then layered with thinly sliced corned beef, and sauerkraut. As originally made by recipe inventor Wayne Lynn, a Reuben Pizza would be made on a rye bread pizza crust, however today Reuben Pizzas are usually made on a regular pizza crust in most restaurants, and delis where it can be found. While the Reuben Pizza did become popular in some areas of the country, it was never as popular as Mr. Lynn's recipe for Taco Pizza. It was, however, Mr. Lynn's personal favorite of all his recipes.
