Local elections were held in Santa Cruz on Monday, May 14, 2007, as a part of the 2007 Philippine general election. Voters will select candidates for all local positions: a town mayor, vice mayor and town councilors, as well as members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, a governor, a vice-governor and a representative for the province's fourth congressional district in the House of Representatives.[1]
Overview
editIncumbent Mayor Domingo G. Panganiban was term-limited and he is running for Board Member of Laguna, his party nominee is former Mayor and former Congressman Rodolfo San Luis under the LDP, his main opponent is Incumbent Vice Mayor Ariel Magcalas who was running under the Liberal Party.
Incumbent Vice Mayor Ariel Magcalas is eligible for running for his third and final term, but he choose to run for Mayor his party nominee is incumbent Councilor Allan Pamatmat under the Liberal Party, his opponent's is incumbent Councilor Bryan Lateo of the LDP and former Councilor Jaime Alexander Calupitan under the Lakas–CMD.
