User:Elhugheszete/Draft of Secure Federal File Sharing Act

The Secure Federal File Sharing Act is a proposed United States federal law currently under review by the United States Senate as of March 25, 2010.[1] If enacted, the Secure Federal File Sharing Act will require the Director of the Office of Management and Budget to issue guidance and update regulations on the use of open-network peer-to-peer filesharing software to prohibit the personal use of such software by federal employees.[2][3] The Act would require heads or chief information officers of agencies to request permission for employees to use specific peer-to-peer filesharing programs for work-related tasks, including regulating use of such programs on employee's personal home computers.
