Filipo Lubua (1984 - ) was born in Njagu Village of Vunta Ward, Same Kilimanjaro Tanzania. He went to school at Njagu Primary School from 1993 to 1999, before joining Kirangare Secondary School for his O-level secondary education. After his O-level, he joined Aldersgate High School for his A-level education.
After his secondary education, he joined the University of Dar es Salaam in 2006 for his Bachelor degree in Arts and Education, where he majored in Linguistics and Geography. He graduated in 2009. In 2010, he won a prestigious Fulbright fellowship, and he worked as a Swahili language teaching assistant at the [University of Wisconsin Madison], USA. After his Fulbright fellowship, in August 2011 he joined Ohio University for his graduate studies. He is now a graduate student in the Department of Linguistics of Ohio University.
