Early Life

edit

When Michelle was a baby, her father James Howard Patterson had a massive heart attack. After a heart transplant, he battled with poor health for 14 years. During that time, Michelle and her father would watch television episodes of Chuck Norris’ Walker, Texas Ranger or he’d ask her to sing to him. From a young age, Michelle played piano and flute, and started singing and recording while a student at Seven Hills School in Walnut Creek, California.[2] Her favorite album as a child was Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and she frequently sang the album's song, “Close Every Door,” before she began making her own music.[3]

Michelle’s father died when she was 15, and she dedicated her career to him.[4]

The album was a tribute to her late father.[5]

Preceding the album on xxx, Michelle released the single, "Chuck Norris" co-written with Sellea.
