Overview
editExample is the critically acclaimed second album from Australian rock group The Examples and sent the group from its localised fame in Australia to fame around the world. It was the centerpiece of their 2006 European tour and was the first album by an Australian band to reach high chart positions in New Zealand.
Example was produced by Biggie Smalls posthumously.
Singles
editI'm Famous on Myspace was released as a single in the weeks before the album officially launched, and quickly came under fire by community groups in Australia for its strong lyrics that no warning appeared on the case for. Subsequently two interviews on the Today Show and Jerry Springer were hastily cancelled.
The Accoustics in Dad's Garage and Singing in the Shower were released as singles on Bigpond Music however days before release of Example, Singing in the Shower was decided against for inclusion on the final album, it's interesting to note that the first day or so's production run of the album included the track and these copies of the album have been sold on the auction site Ebay for up to AUD$300.00.
