Can anyone guess I'm a fan of Tolkien? My love was founded on The Lord of the Rings books, long predating the movies (visually wonderful, but taking some serious liberties with parts of the story, including some severe modifications of some characters' character). I've used the name of Elrond as a pseudonym at least since serving as a Master in the Great Midwest Trivia Contest at Lawrence University while a student there.
I grew up in Alma, Michigan, where the history of a local company that was briefly the largest exclusive truck manufacturer in the country (Republic Motor Truck Company) fed a delight in historical research. For many years I lived in Connecticut, and began using ElrondCT as an online pseudonym (since frequently "Elrond" alone was already in use). A later move to Pennsylvania led to a change in the ending abbreviation. After many years as co-owner of a small business developing lease accounting software that ran under the RSTS/E operating system, more recently I joined a larger lease accounting software firm that operates as a cloud computing service.
