Boom.Studio Company
editBoom.Studio entered the South African music industry in 2015, with founder Dave Thompson, signing their first artists RO and Lucille Slade. Dave Thompson is known for working with international labels, including Arista, Chrysalis, Interscope, J Records, Jive/Zomba, MCA/Geffen and RCA. He also worked with intentional artists such as Alicia Keys, Avril Lavigne, Bob Dylan, Britney Spears, Bruce Springsteen, Christina Aguilera, David Bowie, Elvis Presley, Guns and Roses, Jay Z, Nirvana, Pink, Puff Daddy, R Kelly, Toni Braxton, Usher and Whitney Houston.
Boom.Studio is a digital talent discovery platform; aiming towards an environment for creativity (song writing and production, not solely focused on vocalists) that tries to bring together artists as well as fans. The third pillar of Boom.Studio is positioned towards brands who would like to tap into music and entertainment marketing - a discovery tool to find talent, with white label and e-commerce facilities.
It can be classified as a Digital Label, a larger version of a Netlabel that mainly distributes music through digital audio formats and relies on the Internet to serve the product.
