Pierre-Michel-Eugène Vintras, also known as Pierre-Michel-Élie (4 April 1807 - 7 December 1875), was a French esotericist and cult leader who in 1839 claimed to be a reincarnation of the prophet Elijah and is credited with first associating the cross of Saint Peter with its present occult symbolism. His cult, the Saviours of Louis XVII, was formally condemned by the Pope following multiple reports of heresy, and in 1841 was arrested and imprisoned for defrauding his followers.
