What's up everyone my name is Eric, but people call me Esmith its a little easier to say. Before I get into who I am id like to thank you for your time and interest on getting to know me more! I am a small towner that loves to explore and expand my horizon on life. I grew up with many things to be grateful about. My amazing and quite large family along with a full household of immediate family. When my life began, speaking was something that I was not too fond of and I didn't start speaking publicly until second grade. Four different doctors gave me different a diagnosis on the reason why I didn't talk and turns out I wasn't any of those things as now its hard to get me to stop talking at times! I never really had an answer myself as to why I didn't but I assume it was anxiety driven. Most of my life I had an overwhelming passion for the sport basketball! I was cut from my 7th grade basketball team and I was bawling my eyes out on the bus and upset all the way until my mother drives by to get me and bring me back to the school. Apparently my coach at the time coach Bing found a way to make an extra spot on the team for me. I didn't play much that year but being cut from the team then on the team was all I needed to feel my passion throughout the next few years. From daily court runs at the park to putting shots up alone to working out it was as if it was seemingly impossible for me to not make a team again. Success for me began to come around 9th grade as I had a growth spurt to about six feet and lost a few pounds from the work over the past year or so. I was starting to get playing time and became the 6th man for the team which was huge to me! I was finally a contributor for the team. 10th grade came around and I made the junior varsity team. The first games of the season were a tournament that year and it was a varsity only team but the varsity coach, coach Taylor was planning to bring one player from junior varsity. That player ended up being me! I wasn't one to play in the games just yet but I still felt extremely honored and motivated to keep pushing. By my senior year I was the starting center for my local high school the Williamsport Millionaires and even made it in the Sun-Gazette a few times! It's surreal to think about how far I've come but my journey was still not finished as I still had the same fueled passion for the sport which took me to play at the collegic level. It took all the way until my second year in college to start feeling differently about the sport I once loved and decided to focus my time elsewhere and explore new talents! But I will never forget all the fun I had playing basketball and all the things it taught me throughout the years. I now have a passion for music and hope to start a career doing what I now love. Wish me luck!
