Biography

Anisha Thomas is an Indian-born Australian composer[1], pianist and music producer. Her composition career predominantly lies in screen music. She has experience working with a variety of different musical genres such as Classical, World Music, Fusion[2] , Electronic, Indie/Alternative and Jazz[3] . Her career to date has also involved working with variety of artists from different backgrounds, such as filmmakers, visual artists, writers[4] , dancers and choreographers[5] .
Career
editAnisha Thomas completed the Bachelor of Music (Composition) degree with Honours at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, under the guidance of internationally renowned composer and saxophonist Sandy Evans [6], and distinguished Australian composer Matthew Hindson.
Anisha has also collaborated with acclaimed Australian ensembles such as the Australian Art Orchestra in 2015. Her music has been featured at acclaimed venues such as the Sydney Opera House as well as various international festivals and professional productions around Australia[7] .
As a screen music composer, Anisha regularly scores for various productions in different genres. In 2016, she received recognition with a professional membership from the Australian Guild of Screen Composers[8] . Her screen music credits include numerous short films, documentaries, a TV series and a feature film. In 2017, Anisha composed the music score [9] for Award winning short film, ‘Curated Illusions’, by Sydney-based director and screenwriter Rachael Belle Myers[10] .
Anisha is also the owner and director of sound and music production company, ‘Sound-how’. Consisting of a team of composers and sound designers selected by Anisha, work together to manage and assist with on various on and off-screen projects. [11]
