Eugene Zachary Bertrand was born in Salem, Massachusetts in 2002. As a child, his family relocated to Connecticut. With hopes of making his mark in society, Eugene decided to get involved in numerous extracurricular activities in the duration of high school. Soon, Eugene had the privilege of working with elected officials on their re-election campaigns. Due to the shortage of males and educators of color, With over 500 community service hours dedicated to the State of Connecticut, Eugene aspires to become an educator in the near future, that way students will have an educator that they can identify with culturally. The Boys and Girls Club 2018 Youth of the Year is currently a student a student at Eastern Connecticut State University double majoring in Elementary Education and History.
