Darren Stewart (born 11 January 1968) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played for Balmain, Penrith and South Sydney.


Playing career Stewart played mostly on the wing and occasionally as Fullback. He started his career at Balmain in 1988 then moving to Penrith the following year Penrith, originally playing in the Parramatta junior competition playing representative SG Ball and Jersey Flegg.


While with Penrith he made 13 first-grade appearances, nine of them in the club's premiership winning 1991 season. Darren played in the semi finals but never took the field in the Grand Final. While at Penrith his speed was is signature being fastest in the club clocking a time of 10.62 over the 100 metres


In 1992 he played for South Sydney, featuring in all the pre season first-grade games and the Charity Shield then only making the single appearance in the season proper.


Stewart returned to Penrith in the 1993 season ending the season playing 1st grade for the last 4 games.


The following season Stewart played in the Metropolitan Cup for St Mary's winning the Gran Final. He represented City in the city v Country, then being picked to represent NSW residents side in the State of Origin pre match of NSW v Queensland and was picked in the Australian side to play Papa New Guinea.
