Sri Fakir Mohan Mallick has created a place of his own in the art-field of Odisha as an eminent sculptor and devoted art teacher. He graduated from the government college of art and crafts, Khallikote (1963) with specialization in sculpture , Sri Mallick joined govt. service as an art teacher. After serving in different schools for 30 years, he retired at the practicing govt. girl's high school, Cuttack in 1994. He dedicated his service as an honorary lecturer in Sculpter at the Cuttack college of art and crafts for five years. This noble art institution , which was established (1976) by stalwarts like Dr. M.D. Tali, Sri B.B Kanungo , Sri Asit Mukherjee, inspired him to build statued and establish himself in the field . Since then he has not looked back . A good number of statues of eminent personalities in different sizes and medium prepared by Sri Mallick , have been installed at many important places all over Odisha . They all signify the crediability and calibre of Sri Mallick as a front -line sculptor of the state . Sri Mallick is a silent and sincere worker all long . But for his devotion as an artist and his contribution to the promotion of child art , he has been honoured by the Odisha Lalit Kala Acedemy , Konark Natya Mandap , Lioness Club Of Cuttack , Sarala Sangeet Kala Kendra , Niswas , Sunanda Pathy Foundation and Jagatsinghpur District Festival Committee .
