Major General Suleiman Sa’id RTD Mni, was born on 12th of April 1945. Suleiman Barau Sa'id was a regular combatant and a commissioned officer.He attended Central Primary School Kontagora from 1954-1960. The following year he proceeded to government college Bida Niger State from 1961-1967. In 1967 he enrolled as a cadet at the Nigerian Defence Academy and graduated in March 1970. He obtained Nigerian Defense Certificate of Education.Major General Suleiman Barau Sa'id is a retired Nigerian Army Officer, elder statesman and a traditional aristocrat from Niger state. He holds the emirate/ royal title of Sa'in Kontagora, he is highly regarded as Niger State political father.Military career He held several military appointments starting from regimental commandant, deputy military secretary, commandant officer, chief instructor school of artillery, colonel administration quartering, colonel general staff at army head quarters BDEHe was director is of manning for two years before he was appointed as military attache at the nigerian high commission Zimbabwe with accreditation to Namibia, South Africa,, Tanzania, Botswana, Angola, Zambia, Mozambique, Ethiopia, Mauritius, and Lesotho.After returning to Nigeria.He was appointed director army recruitment,reserve, and resettlement up to 1993.Then he was posted to defense headquarters as director administration in 1994.(5)Suleiman Barau Sa’id was the deputy military secretary from 1978 to 1979 an appointment he held working with Major General Muhammadu Buhari then he was a Brigadier General and the deputy military secretary.
