Dunhamswood

edit

Dunhamswood is an area of broadleaved woodland which was planted over 6 years starting in 1985. It is located approximately two miles outside of March in the Fens of the east of England.

Although it is privately owned, its owners Margaret and Arthur Dunham, regularly open the wood to the public during the summer. Their main interest is in providing a location for families to enjoy themselves, and regular treasure hunts and other games take place within the wood. A major feature of the wood is the Dunhamswood Railway. A 7 1/4 inch minitaure railway with approximately half a mile of rack that snakes through the woodland.

The wood is also used as a venue for various other events including wildlife and photography and archery.

Margaret and Arthur Dunham were interviewed for the BBC Radio 4 program "Breakfast with a Farmer" in 1992
